Evolutions Makes £1million Investment and Goes Fully HD

13th October 2009

Evolutions, Soho's largest independent post production facility, announced today a major investment and upgrade of all its sites making it a fully HD capable facility. The £1 million project stems from major broadcasters commissioning HD work and an increasing number of productions switching to high definition - including two of Evolutions' most popular shows, Top Gear and The Apprentice. Uniquely for a Soho post house with multiple sites, Evolutions will also be installing its own dedicated dark fibre between its four sites to enable the centralisation of MCR resources and improve efficiency.

As part of the project Evolutions has upgraded its 13 Symphony systems to Nitris HD, and installed new HD decks and monitors. Other technical purchases include Blackmagic HD cards, a Content Agent upgrade and all of its design arm Sprout's systems will now be HD capable. To facilitate this media intensive workflow, Evolutions will be centralising all its storage into one site with a 96tb Avid ISIS Unity system.

Evolutions has also re-furbished the entire interior of its Berners Street site, making it more stylish and comfortable for clients. The whole project will be completed at the end of October 2009.

Simon Kanjee, Managing Director, Evolutions comments; "Being able to offer a fully capable HD location is crucial as more and more broadcasters commission HD projects and our returning clients go down this route.  Therefore we are making this vital investment now and ensuring the best possible efficiency of our systems and staff."
